Volunteer
This ministry is able to help so many in need because of volunteers like you, come be a part of what God is doing! Come when you can, leave when you need to.
Individuals can show up during our regular hours and volunteer without an appointment. Groups of 10 or more need to call Joeth Strickland (910-890-7201) to schedule a time to come.
HOURS:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10:00am to 02:00pm
Saturday 08:00am to 12:00pm
(Anything outside of these hours is by appointment only.)
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
EVERYONE! We welcome ALL ages, including those with physical and mental disabilities. We have jobs for those that need to sit. We work with families with special needs children to accommodate their abilities and create the environment that works for them. We welcome individuals and groups up to 50 people at one time. Families, Youth groups, ladies’ groups, men’s groups, scout troops, AHG troops, businesses, school clubs (KEY Club, sports, etc.). We work with those needing service hours for clubs and those needing required hours for the courts upon approval. If you are willing, we can use you!
Some of the things you might be doing when you come volunteer:
1. Sort clothes
2. Make Hygiene kits (This is a great area for families with young children to work)
3. Sorting and boxing medical supplies
4. Breaking down surgical kits
5. Packing shipments for various countries
6. Pulling orders of requested items.
7. Sorting donations that have come in and putting them in the correct area
8. General maintenance – cutting grass, weed eating, taking trash out, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors
REQUIREMENT: Everyone has to sign a liability form that is good for one year. There is also a photo release section on this form because we take many photos to use on our Facebook page. (We understand that some families are the process of adoption cannot have photos posted. We want to respect everyone’s wishes in this area.)
